These skills become progressively important as they take on senior managerial positions in the professional careers. The success of a technological development from concept to commercial product highly relies on effective research strategy, technology & product life cycle analysis, production planning, project management, quality management and so on. Proper protection of intellectual property should be ensured by means of patent, copyright or trademark. Engineering economic analysis should be performed in decision making among feasible alternative engineering solutions in order to maximise the economic benefit.
